Zombies Here, There, Everywhere

Sunday, November 27, 2011

So I was recently watching a zombie Tv-Show, nothing is better than seeing brains flying around a room at 4 a.m. Yes there was a lot of blood but I thought I should try something new around this area. So here it is. What I've seen? An episode of:

Dead Set
During a fictional series of Big Brother, a zombie outbreak occurs, but the house-mates are unaware of the impending doom outside of the Big Brother House.

This one is a tv mini-series and it has a total of 5 episode. I found it ok and it reminded me a little of The walking Dead.

So here you have a trailer, don't be fooled, the actual show is better than it shows the trailer:

The walking Dead

Waking up in an empty hospital after weeks in a coma, County Sheriff Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) finds himself utterly alone. The world as he knows it is gone, ravaged by a zombie epidemic. The Walking Dead tells the story of the weeks and months that follow after the apocalypse. Based on Robert Kirkman's hugely successful and popular comic book series, AMC's The Walking Dead is an epic, edge-of-your-seat drama where personal struggles are magnified against a backdrop of moment-to-moment survival. A survivalist story at its core, the series explores how the living are changed by the overwhelming realization that those who survive can be far more dangerous than the mindless walkers roaming the earth. They themselves have become the walking dead.

Today was the release date of the fourth novel from the Stefan's Diaries Series and I am more than happy since I have the first 3 novels and loved them and because of the present title. If you still don't know what this is about, here you have the plot:

Twenty years have passed since Stefan Salvatore last saw his brother, Damon. Now, living in a remote town in England, far away from the haunting memories of Mystic Falls, Stefan is finally able to start over. But when news from London reaches Stefan of a brutal killer on the loose, who goes by Jack the Ripper, Stefan suspects that the murders are the work of a vampire…his brother.
Full of dark shadows and surprising twists, the fourth book in the Stefan’s Diaries series raises the stakes for the Salvatore brothers as they face new loves, old treacheries, and unimaginable threats. Fans of the Vampire Diaries series and the hit television show won’t be able to put the latest Salvatore adventure down.

L.J. Smith's "Night of the Solstice" and "Heart of Valour"

Monday, November 07, 2011
Leaving aside L.J. Smith's Vampire Diaries and Secret Circle I wanted to show you two other titles by this author. I found them on BookDepositoy while browsing for deals (because I'm a deal hunter) and I fell in love with the covers of these books:

Night of the Solstice by L. J. Smith

When Claudia Hodges-Bradley meets a fox, she knows it will be an extraordinary day. Not just any fox, this vixen is the magical familiar of the sorceress Morgana Shee. For years, Morgana has guarded the solitary gate between Earth and the Wildworld, a shimmering parallel universe where legends still live. She alone holds the secret of the mirrors that serve as the last surviving passage to enchantment. But Morgana has been betrayed and imprisoned in the Wildworld, and the fox is determined to recruit Claudia and her siblings for the rescue mission. Armed only with courage and determination, Alys, Charles, Jane and Claudia must save Morgana before the winter solstice, when evil sorcerer Cadel Forge plans to escape the Wildworld and conquer Earth. And with December 21st only 2 weeks away, there is no time to lose...

Heart of Valour by L. J. Smith

More than a year and a half has passed since Alys, Claudia, Jane and Charles helped to free the great sorceress, Morgana Shee, from imprisonment and close the passage between the Stillworld and the Wildworld. But when an earthquake hits California and continues to shake with lingering aftershocks, the Hodges-Bradley children begin to suspect this was no ordinary quake, and that the passage seal between the worlds may no longer be stable. With their parents overseas and Morgana travelling north to find the epicentre of the quake the children are left on their own. But peril lurks around every corner, and strange happenings in their home town force them on journey that will test their skills to the very limit. It seems that Morgana's archrival, Thia Pendriel, has stolen the Forgotten Gem, the Heart of Valour, and is waiting to spring her trap...

Oh and BTW, told you I am a deal hunter and here is the deal. You can buy Night of the Solstice by L. J. Smith with $4.59 and Heart of Valour by L. J. Smith with $4.60. Just click on the titles or on the photos.
