Stefan's Diaries: Origins

Sunday, October 09, 2011
Set during the Civil War, against a backdrop of grand estates, unimaginable riches, and deadly secrets, three teenagers in Mystic Falls, Virginia enter a torrid love triangle that will span eternity.
Brothers Stefan and Damon Salvatore are inseparable until they meet Katherine, a stunning, mysterious woman who turns their world upside down. Siblings turned rivals, the Salvatores compete for Katherine's affection, only to discover that her sumptuous silk dresses and glittering gems hide a terrible secret: Katherine is a vampire. And she is intent on turning them into vampires so they can live together-forever.
Based on the popular CW TV show inspired by the bestselling novels, Stefan's Diaries reveals the truth about what really happened between Stefan, Damon, and Katherine—and how the Vampire Diaries love triangle began.

I was really curious about this book from the moment I found out about it, since I am a fan of Vampire Diaries both the Tv Show and the books. I must say that it was fun to read a book that is more related to the show and not the original series. I always liked to know more about the background of my favorite characters. Although most of the details in the book were shown in the show, there are a lot of additional info about Damon, well the old Damon, and Katherine’s game with the Salvatore brothers.
The time is set during the Civil War and it almost describes accurate those times and Mistic Falls as an old setting. Is hard to select what to tell you and what not to tell you about the book, except that it is mostly based on Stefan’s evolution from being human, the son of the man that is in charge with the council that fights with vampires to a cold blooded killer that fest’s with the blood of his own father.
If you are a fan of the series than I seriously advice you to read these books.

Release date: 2012

The other books in the series:

 Where to buy:

The Alchemyst
The Magician
The Sorceress
The Necromancer
The Warlock
The Enchantress

For those that haven't got a clue about the series, here is a little summary:

The Alchemyst is a contemporary fantasy which opens in modern
day San Francisco when brother and sister, Josh and Sophie
discover that the owner of the bookstore where Josh works
is the immortal French alchemist, Nicholas Flamel. Flamel
and his wife, Perenelle, are the guardians of the Book of
Abraham which they have protected for centuries. This is
a collection of the most powerful spells in the world. When
Dr John Dee discovers the Flamels’ whereabouts, he attacks
and snatches the book. Josh and Sophie intervene to help
Flamel, but now they too are being hunted by Dee and creatures
that predate humanity.
All of the main characters in The Alchemyst series are based
on figures from history or mythology.
Nicholas and Perenelle Flamel both existed. Nicholas was
born in France in 1330, and not only do his diaries and writings
exist, his house at 51 rue de Montmorency still stands in
Paris today.
