Blaze is the story of Clayton Blaisdell, Jr. -- of the crimes committed against him and the crimes he commits, including his last, the kidnapping of a baby heir worth millions. Blaze has been a slow thinker since childhood, when his father threw him down the stairs -- and then threw him down again. After escaping an abusive institution for boys when he was a teenager, Blaze hooks up with George, a seasoned criminal who thinks he has all the answers. But then George is killed, and Blaze, though haunted by his partner, is on his own.
Ok, this one was a brake from all the vampires, werewolves, well shortly said...fantasy novels. This was also my first book written by Stephen King and I loved it.
I usually end up hating the villains from a book and this one was only about the villain. Still it was impossible to make myself hate Blaze even thought if I would have heard about a baby kidnapper on TV, I would have thought: what a sick man could do that? But Mr. King successfully combined Blaze's present actions with his past and in the end you just feel sorry for him. He was a victim his entire life and he always tried to fit in so many crowds during his life and he is just wrongly guided.
This is supposed to be the worst book of S. King and as I already said: I loved it. I heard about the amazing style of the author but I never actually read something by him. Now I feel the need to read more Stephen King and next in line will be Shining. Just need to find some time to read it.
